We have always been taught that mental illness comes from misfiring synapses in the brain, which is something that science has proven time and again. But what we haven’t been taught is WHY those synapses misfire. What triggers them to begin too suddenly fire too strongly or not strongly enough?
This weekend, we will be exploring an entirely new possibility: What if synapses misfire due to harmful energetic interactions?
What if we, as humans, are all innately psychic, and keeping ourselves mentally healthy means educating ourselves on what our own personal energy feels like, how it works, and what it means for it to interact with the outside world?
Between the energies of the New Moon in Taurus, the 5/5 Energy Portal, and National Mental Health Awareness Month in the month of May, I could not think about a better time to come together to explore these possibilities.
Through 8 different workshops and the power of experiential exercises, rewriting and telling your story, lecture, and group discussion, we will be diving into these new concepts:
-What is my own energy and how does it work?
-What are the different types of psychic abilities, which ones am I exhibiting, and how can they manifest into mental illness or mental health?
-What does it mean for my energy to live in a body?
-What is my own, personal story, and how can I rewrite it by acknowledging the truth in all of my childhood and adult psychic experiences?
-How do the stars and planets effect the ways in which I perceive energy, or how different energy affects me?
-How can what I’ve been taught about what it means to be a man or what it means to be a woman affect the ways in which I exhibit my abilities, and my general mental health?
-What do I need to know in order to move forward? And more.
This powerful weekend will be hosted by Rachel Leah Gerson, metaphysical practitioner and creatrix of Doorway to Self, LLC: a holistic mental health business that combines psychic tools with counselling techniques to help people find their truths, their answers, and new ways to work with getting mentally healthy.
Gerson was diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder in 2012, and after two years of using these avant-garde techniques on herself, the diagnosis was revoked by the two psychologists who had diagnosed her to begin with. It is now her mission to introduce this concept into the world, and to help people identify the possibility of being deeply effected by energy, themselves, to the point of manifesting mental illness.
The weekend’s activities will be presented from 10:30am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday will be more focused on lecture and discussion and will be open to a maximum of 25 people.
Sunday will be much more private, as it is only open to 8 participants. We will be more focused on experiential learning and deep diving within. This is a deep healing experience that cannot be missed.
Tickets to attend the full weekend will available, but limited to 8 people due to Sunday’s capacity.
Tickets to attend a single day will be available for both days.
Tickets to singular classes will be available for Saturday, only.
Lunch is gluten free, organic, and vegetarian with vegan options, and is included in Day and Weekend Passes or can be purchased by single-class participants on Saturday for $10 per person.

2:00-4:30pm* Astrology for Mental Health A spin off of a Doorway to Self favourite, Astrology 101, this class will explore the basics of astrology through the lens of mental illness: How might having more fire sign in your chart make your more prone to exhibiting signs of ADHD or Bipolar II? How might having your 4th house in Taurus make you more prone to a diagnosis of OCD? How might having your moon in Scorpio make you more prone to depression and suicidality? If you don’t understand what any of this means, well, that’s what the class is for ;) *There will be a short break in the middle of this class to allow for integration, a snack, and a breath. Class Pass energy exchange: $33 Get Tickets, Now.
5:00-5:45pm Day and Weekend Pass Group Debrief It is important to have the time to be able to process after a big day of information and integration like this. This offering of the day is included for people who came for the whole day to be able to debrief their experience.

10:30-11:30am Remembering Skin Our bodies hold so much more within them than we can even begin to fathom. In this somatic workshop, we will be doing light movement to help reconnect ourselves with the wisdom of who we are in the intersection of physical and energetic. People talk about the mental body, emotional body, physical body, and spiritual or energetic body, but really they are one and the same: everything is everything, as we are holistic, integrative beings.
12:00pm-1:00pm Rewriting Your Story As we move through our lives, it is easy to integrate other peoples’ versions of who we are into our story. In this interactive workshop, we will be reworking our own life stories to speak our deepest, purest truths. You will be able to work on this through lunch, as well.
1:00-2:00pm Silent Lunch
2:00-3:00pm Creating Your Own Affirmation Card The root of all mental illness is not being truly “seen”: When have you been shut down or disallowed from being You? This art workshop activity will be focused on YOU: You will learn several different ways to try and tap into your “higher self” in order to obtain the message that you are needing to keep moving forward, and then we will be putting that message into images, words, colours, and symbols onto your very own take-home tool.
3:30-5:00pm 5/5 Portal Magic: Cauldron of Story The number 5 is about journeying: Physically journeying to other places, astrally journeying to other places, journeying through others, and journeying through the Self. As we work together in the midst of the numerological vibration of 5/5 (May is the fifth month of the year), we can begin to tap into these energies to get deeper perspective on our own stories, and on the stories of others. We will be opening a portal to speak our truths. Space will be held for yourself and others to do such.
5:30pm Day and Weekend Pass Group Debrief It is important to have the time to be able to process after a big day of information and integration like this. This last 30 minutes of the day is included for people who came for the whole day or the whole weekend to be able to debrief their experience.
Full Weekend Pass Energy Exchange: $144; Open to only 8 participants. Get Tickets.
**It is my mission to make this weekend accessible. Because of such, if there is a class that in your gut you know you need to go to but believe you cannot afford, please email me and we can work out a special accommodation. This option is available for single classes, only**
NOTE: Gerson is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage, Children, and Family Counseling student at Western Michigan University. She is currently in her Practicum and is not a licensed mental health provider, and does not view her practise as a counselling practise. This weekend is meant to be a discussion and an exploration of new possibilities, and though Gerson has been using the research she gathers in session with clients to give proof to these working theories, they have not been clinically proven and should not be a substitute for the recommendations of your licensed mental health provider, or any psychotropic medications.
