Full Moon in Libra: Finding the Outer Balance You've Been Working Towards

You have been growing stronger. In the last month you have been challenged, and you have been growing stronger.

Lots of shifts have been happening, astrologically, that it is important to take note of. Last month’s full moon also fell in the sign of Libra. It is rare to have two full moons in a row in the same sign. What’s more is that last month’s full moon in Libra- the sign of balance- fell on the Spring Equinox, the day of balance. The intersection of these energies on the same day, plus all of the shifts with Uranus, Chiron, and Mercury, presented us with some upheaval. And all of the upheaval brought light to what was completely out of balance in our lives.

It is likely that over the last month you have been working hard to bring those highlighted things into balance, which makes sense because that is what Libra is queen of: swinging from one extreme to the other before finding centre. That is why people with a lot of Libra in their natal charts may be more likely than other folks to be diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder, or why more people may experience mental breaks when there are big Libra events happening (this is a concept that we will be diving into during the Astrology for Mental Health Class at the Doorway to Mental Health Retreat in a few weeks!).

So last full moon during the equinox, we took notice of our extremes, and we have been working since then to find the centre; to rid our lives of things and people and habits and limiting thoughts that have been kicking us into a wrong corner to crumple.

This second full moon in Libra is the one to bring satisfaction; to affirm you in your new version of peace; to let you know that whatever work that you have been doing towards bringing the balance and peace into your life has paid off.

It is also important to note the major planetary shifts that are happening at this time. On 10 April, Jupiter turned retrograde, where it will stay until 11 August. This, my friends, is what we call spectacular timing! Jupiter is the planet that rules money, finances, bureaucracies, and careers.

I say this is great timing, because Jupiter retrograde is known for changing hierarchical systems, especially in business or politics. This means that if you have been having issues with your boss, your manager, or someone else who you are in business with, get ready for your colleagues to have the opportunity to see exactly who they are. They will be exposed in one shape or form. So, essentially, this is particularly great in terms of helping to bring balance to your work life.

We are also likely feeling the effects of Pluto and Saturn in their shade before they both turn retrograde at the end of the month (on the 24thand 29th). This means that we will be beginning to focus inward, once again. Balance and peace on the outside means that its time to focus on balance and peace on the inside.

Saturn is the planet of learning lessons; of facing our greatest fears; of facing ourselves. When it goes retrograde, these are all the things that we begin to turn towards. Saturn retrograde is about digging into the dirt so that we may bloom on the other side.

Pluto is the planet of shadow work. Of diving into our personal underworlds. Of death and rebirth.

So the two together form a truly beautiful duo so that we can face ourselves and our fears, and then take the time to understand what these challenges trigger within us, and how we can shift and change to integrate them or assert them in a way that is more conducive to who we are. This is a period of tremendous growth, and will last through the fall (Saturn goes direct on 18 September and Pluto goes direct on 2 October).

It is important to note that both Pluto and Saturn are both currently occupying the sign of Capricorn, which is where they will be retrograding, as well. This means that we will be challenged to on lessons dealing with: Grounding; perceptions; harnessing emotions; balance; observing details; planning; order; stability; money; business; and unpredictability.

So this second full moon is helping us to wrap up whatever projects we were working on in our outer worlds: Cleaning out our physical, energetic, and emotional closets in the last month has paved the way for our internal work. This next phase is about being triggered in order to have the opportunity to connect with a deeper, stronger part of yourself.

Here’s to wrapping things up, peace, balance, and new adventures within.

Happy full moon in Libra, my darling.
